Bad Hair Day? 3 Ways to Turn it Around

Quigley's Bad Hair Day Tips

Quigs here!

If you’ve seen me, you know I’m no stranger to bad hair days. They’re inevitable and even a little funny but can be annoying when your hair won’t do that one thing you want it to do. Don’t worry; we’ve all been there! These are my tried and true ways that I can turn a bad hair day into a good one when I’m in a pinch.

1. Throw it Up

My signature look over the years definitely has evolved, but one thing has remained: I love top knots. Whether it’s full-on or a mini, they’re quick and cute, and I can’t get enough. I always recommend brushing your hair lightly with a brush, and then using your hands to brush the desired amount of hair to the top of your head. For a full tutorial, you can watch my IGTV here. Want a little something extra? Swap your hair tie with a scrunchie for a pop of color.

2. Accessorize

Headbands, clips, hair scarves, oh my! In bad hair days, more is more. Your bangs are not laying right? Clip them. That weird cowlick sticking up? Tie it up with a scarf. By adding a statement piece to your ‘do, you take away from your “don’t.”

3. Hit the Refresh

Sometimes, you just need to hit the refresh button. For my fashionably late people, the shower is out, and dry shampoo is your best friend. After adding your choice of dry shampoo, my favorite is Clean Freak by Not Your Mother’s, follow it up with a volumizing powder like NYM’s Girl Powder. It lifts the roots to help give you a “I just did a blowout” look. Follow up with the styling of your choice, from sleek low bun to effortless waves.
